CHAPTER XII: DAY BY DAY...

"Jimmy? You gona be ok with taking over the shop?"

He just sat, looking sad or stunned or both. My heart sank even further.
"Jimmy?"

"Yeh, I guess so. I MEAN. What choice do I have?"
Hmmm...

I sat back down next to him and Jake came and sat on the other side of him
"Jimmy, life is full of choices. You just have to see them and then make one."
"I don't know, Dylan."
"Ok, let's explore."

Jake chimed in.
"Yeh, for one, you could just shut it down and move on."
Jimmy sat, and then slowly shook his head.

"I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that."

"Ok, tell you what. Dylan and I will get some of our people and we will go over and assess the situation. Do you know about the banking and the books and stuff? Does your dad have an accountant?"

"I only know to fix engines. I've never done anything in the office. Dad did all that and Ricky used to do some of it too...and no I don't think he does. If he does I ain't got a clue who.

I came up with the idea that this was enough for today. For my part I needed to both do and think.

Jake and I rounded up some goodies for snacks and made calls to put an assessment team together for tomorrow. After that we would have a better idea of what we were up against. I know from NOTHING about engines. Jake is better at that sort of thing, but...

Let me say I know NEITHER of us were quite prepared for what we found.
Nightmare part II.
